Welcome to the website of Communication Theory Laboratory (Ochiai Lab.) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Yokohama National University.

Research Objective

We focus on designing low power consumption, highly reliable, bandwidth-efficient communications systems. In order to achieve this ultimate goal, it is important to optimize not only individual communication components (such as modulation, source and channel coding) but also the combination of these components (i.e., joint optimization) considering impairments of channels as well as effects of realistic (imperfect) analog devices, and so on.
